Privacy Policy

Your recipes stay in your kitchen.

iCook is built around your iCloud account, not a separate service run by us. Recipes, collections, tags, and shared collection access flow through Apple's iCloud infrastructure so your data stays tied to your devices and Apple account.

Last updated: February 4, 2026

Core Principles

  • iCloud sync: Recipes and collections you create are stored in your iCloud account so they stay available across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Shared collections use CloudKit sharing: If you share a collection, access is managed through Apple's iCloud sharing system.
  • No analytics or tracking: iCook does not collect usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or marketing data.

What iCook Does Not Do

  • It does not sell or share personal data.
  • It does not use third-party ad networks, trackers, or analytics SDKs.
  • It does not store your recipes on our own separate servers.
  • It does not give us direct access to your recipe library outside the iCloud services you control.

How Sync and Sharing Work

iCook uses iCloud to keep your recipes and collections updated across your Apple devices. When you accept or create a shared collection, Apple handles the sharing relationship and the synced data remains connected to the participating iCloud accounts.

Your Choices

You control whether to use iCloud on your devices, whether to share a collection with someone else, and when to export or share recipe data. If you export recipes or use your system share sheet, that action happens because you initiated it.

Children's Privacy

iCook does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
